Liftoff Campaigns is seeking a talented communications strategist to join our growing team.
Liftoff is an award-winning, mission-driven communications and digital agency. Our clients are statewide and local Democratic political campaigns, PACs, advocates, non-profits, and changemaking companies.
Liftoff was awarded Digital Agency of the Year at the 2025 Reed Awards. Our communications team, led by veterans of some of the largest and most consequential campaigns in politics, was recognized as a finalist for Strategic Communications Team of the Year.
Our ideal candidate has significant experience executing media relations, principal preparation and management, and message development. You will execute on a range of communications initiatives and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Liftoff’s Vice President of Communications to execute strategic communications plans for clients, tailored to their goals and audiences.
- Contribute to media prep for candidates and organizational leaders, including for interviews, debates, speeches, and other public appearances.
- Craft compelling press releases, talking points, op-eds, and other external communications materials.
- Pitch and shape stories with reporters, cultivating strong relationships with media outlets to secure coverage.
- Coordinate client media engagements.
- Work with clients to develop social and nontraditional media plans that advance an organization’s larger communications goals.
- Support crisis communications and rapid-response messaging.
- Plan and execute press events, including press conferences and media roundtables.
- Support clients’ internal communications staff in executing communications projects.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, identifying opportunities to refine and amplify messaging.
- Collaborate with the creative and digital teams at Liftoff to maximize communications and digital opportunities, and to ensure message consistency across all channels.

- Passion for good causes.
- 4-8 years of experience in political communications with at least 1 campaign cycle of experience in a dedicated communications role;
- Experience preparing candidates or principals for media interviews, debates, and other public engagements.
- A track record of successfully pitching stories to the media.
- Proven ability to craft persuasive messaging and adapt communication strategies for various platforms and audiences.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with an ability to create compelling press materials, op-eds, and talking points.
- Strategic thinker with political instincts and an ability to respond effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with experience balance multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience developing social media strategies and content across various platforms.
- Drive to go the extra mile for clients, and a willingness to be part of a collaborative team that works beyond the 9-5 when required.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $75,000-$90,000
